This book is about influential jazz saxophonist John Coltrane. It tries to capture his music and the fact that he was influenced by religion and spirituality. So, it shows a saxophone in the spotlight as if the light was coming from heaven. I want to keep the overall look simple. I plan to use blue coloring and to add a hazy effect to the whole image. I also may add color to just part of his last name to "jazz" things up! Yes, pun intended.

Awareness poster

This is my awareness poster for texting and driving. I used yellow and black mainly to create the look of a highway sign, and put a red text on the bottom, like blood and also as a warning. I hope it stands out enough.

Awareness poster

Here are some ideas I had for my awareness poster. The top is supposed to be a tongue spitting out "bullets" of hate words, even though the tongue looks like its coming from an animal, although I could say that those who say such things are animal like.  Then there is cyber bullying with weapons shooting out of a cell phone. And also texting and driving, which I explain below:

The concept is to use common texting phrases as a car on the road. But before the texter can get home, they crash and become R.I.P.!

So, I think I will go with texting and driving for my poster. Below, are some alternatives I am considering for the final piece.

Mellow Knights poster

This is my poster for the band Mellow Knights. I have used 8 images blended together. All of the knight's gear and his drink have a soft outer glow added. I also have a layer mask of blue on the outer edges. I put a lot of effects on the text for the band name and the album title.

My poster will be for the band The Mellow Knights and their Sleepy Daze tour.

I have the idea of a knight in his armor lounging in a hammock on the beach sipping a drink. Originally I thought of Moon over Camelot, but changed my mind.

This is the same idea, with more elements and from a different perspective. The knight has his lance and surfboard stuck into the sand on the beach.

This one has the knight on a large chessboard chillin in a chair with a drink. Simpler.

The simplest yet, just a knight on his horse with the scene split between night and day.
